In an addressable fire detection system every detector, call point and module on the loop has its own address. When one of them goes into alarm, the fire alarm panel shows exactly which device it is and where it is installed, so the response team goes straight to the right place instead of searching a whole zone.
This precision brings clear benefits: faster response, fewer false alarms thanks to device-level settings and analysis, easy extension by adding devices to the loop, and networking of several panels across a campus. Addressable systems are the standard choice for medium and large buildings such as hospitals, offices, hotels, airports and industrial sites.
Fire alarm control panels in Europe are specified to EN 54-2, power supplies to EN 54-4, and EN 54-13 checks that the components of a system work together. Projects in the Middle East may also follow UL requirements. Kidde Global Solutions offers addressable systems for both: the Excellence Series from Kidde Commercial, EST4 from Edwards, and migration paths for Ziton and Kilsen installations.
